Season & periodization cycles

The Season is your team’s reference period: “season” statistics (attendance, load, tests) are anchored to it, and it carries your periodization cycles. You define it in the team Settings, and split it into cycles from Load planning.

In Settings → Season, fill in the Season name, Start and End. These dates become the window the app’s “season” views anchor to.

Below those fields, the Season lifecycle block shows the active season and your Archived seasons. Until dates are filled in, the team keeps its historical behaviour — the season is only created once the dates are set.

At the end of a season, the Close the season button opens the Close & start a new season assistant. The current season is archived (read-only) and the new one becomes the reference.

  1. Fill in the Season name, Start and End of the new season.
  2. Roster review (optional) — tick the players leaving the squad: they become “inactive”. Nothing is deleted.
  3. Optionally tick Regenerate recurring trainings over the new season.
  4. Confirm with Close & create the season.

In Load planning, the Cycles tab splits the season into blocks — pre-season, competition, break… — each with its own weekly target and template week. You need an active season to create cycles; otherwise the tab points you to Set the season in the settings.

Add a cycle opens a dialog with:

FieldPurpose
Cycle namee.g. Pre-season, Competition 1, Break.
TypePreparation, Competition, Recovery, Taper or Other.
Start / EndThe block’s dates, which must stay within the season dates.
Weekly target (AU)Prefilled as the target of every week in the cycle (editable week by week). The label follows your team’s load unit — enter the value in that unit.
Template weekAn existing week template, proposed when opening the cycle’s weeks.

When you open a new planner week inside a cycle, it automatically inherits that cycle’s phase, weekly target and category budgets. It is a copy, not a link: editing the cycle later never touches a week that is already planned.

To go faster, Apply the template week applies the cycle’s template in one go to all its empty weeks. Weeks that are already planned are never overwritten — so the action is safe to re-run and reports how many weeks were filled and how many were already planned.

The Season tab of Load planning gives the planned vs actual load, week by week, grouped by cycle. The current week carries the current badge, and weeks outside any cycle are gathered under Outside cycles. It is the season-wide read, where Planned vs actual shows only one week.
