Messages in the app

The Messages tab of the app brings together your team’s conversations: the Whole team channel, one channel per event and your private conversations with the staff. The number of unread messages is shown on the tab.

SectionWhat you’ll find
TeamThe whole-team channel: staff, players and parents.
EventsOne channel per event you’re called up to, with the players called up, their parents and the staff. It moves to Past events after the event.
Private conversationsYour private chats: only the people listed at the top of the conversation read them.

If you aren’t called up to an event, you can read its channel but not write in it.

  • Type in the field at the bottom, then Send. Attach a photo or a PDF adds a file (15 MB at most).
  • A message that asks for confirmation shows I’ve read it: tap it to tell the staff you’ve read it.
  • Delete removes a message you wrote.
  • Report to staff alerts the staff to a message that is a problem.
  • React: tap Message actions (⋯): about fifty emoji, grouped under Recent, Gestures, Faces, Symbols and Sport (with your team’s sport emoji: ⚽ 🥅 for football and futsal, 🤾 🥅 for handball, 🏀 for basketball, 🏐 for volleyball, 🏉 for rugby), open at the bottom of the screen, with who has already reacted. On a computer, hover over the message and choose Add reaction. One reaction per message: another emoji replaces yours, the same one takes it back. Tap a reaction under a message to react the same way. A reaction sends no notification.

The staff can attach strivn blocks to their messages: a call-up, the week’s schedule, results, an exercise, a tactical board, a video…

  • Reply to a call-up: tap Present, Absent or Unsure right in the message. If the team asks for the check-in before confirming, Do the check-in takes you there.
  • View full size: tap an exercise, a tactical board, a video or an image. Enlarge opens it full screen; Play full size starts a video or the animation of a tactical board. Close goes back to the thread.
  • Live or Frozen: a live block updates by itself; a frozen block keeps the figures from the day it was sent, and See the current version shows today’s figures.

New private conversation opens a conversation with the staff.

A private conversation between players is only possible if your team allows it, and never with a minor. To talk with other players, use the team channel.

A parent finds the conversations of their children’s teams in Messages and writes in them in their own name (“parent of Lucas”). With several children, the Your children row shows each one’s unread messages; tap a child to see their channels.

A parent’s message in the team channel or an event channel notifies the staff, never the other parents. See also the Parent portal.

You get a notification for:

  • a staff message in the team channel or an event channel;
  • a message in one of your private conversations;
  • a reminder from the staff, when a message is waiting to be read.

Messages from other players and other parents in the team channel don’t send a notification: you find them by opening Messages. A private conversation’s notification doesn’t show the message on the lock screen, only the team name and “New message”.

Signed in with your phone (or your email) and your password, your phone receives the notifications of all your profiles linked to that number: your teams and, if you are also a parent, your children’s. Switching profile in the app doesn’t turn the others off; a notification opens the right page directly under the right profile. Log out stops the notifications of all your profiles on that phone.
